The month of May was truly an eventful one. Our team was exciting meeting up the FinTech community and our collaborators as well as clients all over the world in various conferences and seminars. We were also ecstatic to launch our LinkedIn page, which provides real-time update on our activities as well as DLT R&D and product announcements.
2 May – HKSTP: 24 Hours in Science Park
CryptoBLK was thrilled to be involved in the 12-part series of I&T documentary, 24 Hours in Science Park, which was co-hosted by HKSTP and Commercial Radio. Our CTO Andrew Hon was interviewed in Episode 11 where he presented the development of MIDAS, and the challenge of enabling authentication while protecting the user privacy throughout the cutting-edge underlying DLT. 21 – 22 May: BCR, Consortia, London, United Kingdom
With the theme of trade finance, this year’s Consortia 2019 organized by BCR Publishing in London this month, made a very interesting program which invited representatives from all the major trade finance DLT consortia. It was a full-house event, with trade finance practitioners and key stakeholders gathered together at the Hilton London Metropole, actively discussing the current DLT-based trade finance consortium development, as well as how we in this industry would like to see in the near future. CryptoBLK was privileged to participate in Consortia 2019, and joined the panel discussion on “Understanding the Underlying Technologies.”
22 May: 2019 Sina Fia Forum, Hong Kong, China
Our CTO Andrew Hon shared his insights on how Blockchain technology impact the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and how the regulator accelerated the fintech development in Hong Kong and GBA at the Sina Fia Forum co-organized by Sina Finance Global and S&P Global Market Intelligence. He believed that as an anchoring point to the international market, Hong Kong was strategically positioned to drive and synergise technological and financial developments with the GBA. Given our expertise as a DLT software solutions provider, he looked forward to the opportunities brought by the GBA and leveraging our expertise to bring about financial innovation. 30 May – Taiping Reinsurance Seminar, Zhuhai
We always feel thankful for the great support from our business partners and love to listen to our customers. Last week, our CTO Andrew Hon introduced MIDAS, Asia’s first Blockchain platform for motor insurance authentication, to the customers of Taiping Reinsurance at their seminar in Zhuhai. Andrew also provided insights on how the team utilizes cryptographic technology and DLT system to develop this industry-wide platform.
