It has been a busy November for CryptoBLK, which has had an action-packed schedule working on various exciting DLT projects, and traveling between Hong Kong, Hangzhou and London for various forums, conferences and exhibitions. The CryptoBLK crew continues working closely with collaborators and clients from all over the world for making the next generation software platforms which can revolutionize Fintech through DLT and cryptography. We are also meeting blockchain communities, and building great connections.
1 Nov – Innovation for a Smart City
Our CEO and founder, Dr Duncan Wong has been invited to be one of the panelists at the 2018 “Smart City ABCD – AI, Blockchain, Cloud, Data” panel co-organized by the HKTDC and HKSTP in Tokyo. The event was for promoting trade and business collaboration between Hong Kong and Japan. The panel’s aim was to share on how Fintech, for example, the blockchain technology, can promote the development of smart cities with a particular emphasis on how they can be applied to modern society.
17 Nov – Westlake International Forum on Cyber Security Research Organized by Zhejian University and Alibaba
Dr Duncan Wong has been invited to be one of the guest speakers on the Westlake International Forum on Cyber Security Research, exchanging his insights on blockchain security and giving an overview on CryptoBLK’s DLT solutions and technologies. Jointly held by Alibaba Group and Institute of Cyberspace Research, Zhejiang University, the Forum has brought over 40 young scientists and academic experts worldwide together in Hangzhou with a focus on in-depth conversation and discussion on multi-party computation, system security and blockchain security.
20 Nov – Showcasing the Startup ecosystems of Hong Kong and India
As a startup with a mission to revolutionize the Fintech industry, CryptoBLK is honored to get invited into this inspirational dialogue between Hong Kong and India’s startup founders and entrepreneurs at the Showcasing Startup Ecosystems of Hong Kong and India event. Dr Wong shares his views on how to deepen entrepreneurial connections between the two regions and the potential Fintech collaborative opportunities, as well as CryptoBLK solutions during the discussion session.
29 Nov – IndustryConnect by HKSTP & HKCEA
In the IndustryConnect, our Chief Business Officer, Lei Xiao, gave a talk on CryptoBLK’s technologies and projects including the trade finance system Voltron, the supply chain finance DLT solution Atlas, and the DLT-based motor insurance authentication platform MIDAS. The seminar is held by Hong Kong Science and Technology Park and the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprise Association with over 70 members from the HKCEA attended the event, including senior management from the Bank of China, SINOPEC, China Railway, China Mobile, Huawei, China Life Insurance and China Merchants Group, etc.
30 Nov – HSBC Innovation Day, London
As the technology solution provider of the Voltron trade finance platform, CryptoBLK is thrilled to be invited to showcase on the HSBC Innovation Day in London. CryptoBLK booth has become one of the main attractions during the day, and our Senior Vice President, Strategic Management, Janyu Tong, was there busy in walking through the trade finance platform Voltron and a few other CryptoBLK DLT solutions with the attentive audience who attended the CryptoBLK booth. The Voltron consortium was founded by 8 global banks including HSBC, ING and others. In addition to Voltron, Janyu also showcased Topaz, the industry’s first Corda-based asset valuation and management platform; Altas, the supply chain finance DLT solution, and MIDAS, an InsurTech DLT platform for the Hong Kong insurance industry.
